The days of entrepreneurs struggling to get business loans are officially over.

Every Nigerian business owner knows the feeling. You have a real opportunity to grow your business, but the cash to act on it is tied up somewhere else. So, you wait, or you scramble, or you let it pass.

This is the liquidity gap that defines the reality of most small and medium businesses in Nigeria. It is not a sign that the business is failing. It is a structural feature of how Nigerian commerce works; income arrives in cycles, but expenses, opportunities, and obligations do not wait for the right cycle to line up.

Credit Direct Business has built a solution specifically for this problem. SME Loans are now available directly within the Credit Direct Business platform, designed for registered Nigerian businesses that need capital to operate, grow, and fulfil the opportunities already in front of them.

What Is Credit Direct Business?

Credit Direct Business is an all-in-one fund management tool for Nigerian businesses looking to grow and scale their operations. With Credit Direct Business, SMEs can access business loans, grow their idle cash at 15% p/a, and make and receive instant payments.

With loans now live on the platform, Credit Direct Business is set to do more for businesses across Nigeria. Applications are completely online, and you can complete the process and receive your funds within 48 hours.

Credit Direct is authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria, and its business lending product operates within the same regulatory framework.

Five Loans You Can Get With Credit Direct Business.

One way Credit Direct Business goes above and beyond is by offering loans tailored to your specific business situation. These loans are structured to give SMEs the exact support they need rather than just cash. Here are our five loan products for business owners.

Term Loan

Best for: Businesses that need cash to keep operations running, cover payroll, or buy equipment.

You get a lump sum and repay it in fixed instalments over an agreed period. Repayment is automatically taken from your Credit Direct Business wallet or another linked bank account. Depending on your profile and the amount, a guarantor or collateral may be required.

Stock Financing

Best for: Businesses that need to buy goods or raw materials before they have the sales to pay for them.

Credit Direct fronts the money to purchase your inventory. You repay from the proceeds once the goods sell. You will need to provide supplier details and evidence of warehouse storage as part of your application.

LPO Financing

Best for: Businesses that have a purchase order in hand but need capital to deliver on it.

You have the order. Credit Direct provides the money to execute it. When your buyer pays, the funds go directly into your Credit Direct Business wallet and are used to settle the loan. No traditional collateral is required — the purchase order and a payment commitment from your buyer are what secure the facility.

Contract Financing Facility

Best for: Businesses that have won a contract but need upfront capital to mobilise and start work.

Credit Direct advances the working capital you need to get the job moving. When your client pays at each milestone or at completion, those funds are credited to your Credit Direct Business wallet and cover the repayment. You will need to provide your signed contract and a payment commitment from your client.

Invoice Discounting Facility

Best for: Businesses waiting on an accepted invoice to mature while cash flow is tight right now.

Your client has accepted the invoice, but payment is still weeks away. Credit Direct advances you a portion of that invoice value immediately so you can keep moving. When your client pays at maturity, the funds go into your Credit Direct Business wallet, and the facility closes. The invoice must already be formally accepted before you can draw down.

Who Can Apply?

If your business is registered with the CAC, whether it is a limited company, partnership, or sole proprietorship, and you have an active Credit Direct Business account, you can apply.

We look at how long your account has been active and how much activity it shows. If your account is newer or has less history, you can still apply; you will just need to provide more supporting documents.

Your business needs to be up and running and making money. If your business has not yet started trading, this product is not the right fit for now.

What You Need to Apply

Every application requires a core set of documents regardless of loan type:

  • CAC certificate
  • Valid director ID and BVN
  • 12 months bank statement
  • Utility bill or proof of business address
  • Signed direct debit mandate

Depending on the loan product, additional documents are required:

  • Stock Financing: Supplier details, type of goods and product list, warehouse address, evidence of past stock purchases
  • LPO Financing: The purchase order, invoice for goods, cost breakdown, and domiciliation letter from the off-taker
  • Contract Financing Facility: Signed awarded contract, contract value and timeline, cost breakdown, domiciliation letter
  • Invoice Discounting Facility: Accepted invoice with off-taker acknowledgement, domiciliation letter, and evidence of prior transactions with the off-taker

How the Application Works

Log in to your Credit Direct Business account at creditdirect.ng/business-loans and navigate to the Loans section. Select your loan product, complete the application form with your business and financial details, upload your supporting documents, and submit.

Once submitted, your application is reviewed, and you’ll get a response within 24 hours and at most 2 business days.

Once a decision is made, you will receive your offer digitally. Once you accept the offer and set up your repayment instrument, the funds you need to grow your business will land in your Credit Direct Business wallet.

The loan amount, interest rate, and tenor are based on your application type, subject to your loan eligibility, and will be displayed clearly on your offer screen before you accept.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I apply if my business has no prior history on Credit Direct Business?

A: Yes, but you will go through a more detailed application process. Your bank statement history, CAC registration, and supporting documents will be assessed to determine eligibility.

Q: What happens if my application is declined?

A: Loan rejections are dependent on your risk profile. It simply means you need more supporting documents, or you do not qualify for the amount you requested for.

Q: Do I need collateral for every product?

A: Not always. Term loans may require collateral or a guarantor, depending on the amount and risk profile. LPO Financing, Contract Financing, and Invoice Discounting use domiciliation of proceeds as the primary control rather than traditional collateral.

Q: How long does it take to get funded?

A: From application to disbursement, the target is within one to two business days, depending on how quickly documents are verified and the application assessed. Once your application is accepted, funds are deposited in your Credit Direct Business wallet.

Q: Is my business data secure?

A: Yes. Credit Direct Business operates under CBN regulations and complies with the Nigerian Data Protection Act. All document uploads and business information are handled within a secure, compliant platform.

Q: Where do I apply?

A: Directly at www.creditdirect.ng/business-loans.

Q: What else can I do with Credit Direct Business?

A: You can run your business payments on Credit Direct Business while earning 15% p.a. on free cash in the account.

Get the Capital Your Business Is Waiting For

Your purchase order should not expire because the capital was not ready. Your invoice should not sit idle while your operations slow down. Your inventory opportunity should not pass because the timing did not align with your bank balance.

Credit Direct Business Lending puts working capital where it belongs — in your business wallet, matched to the opportunity in front of you.
