We have come to the end of what has been a truly defining year for us at Credit Direct, with you at the centre of it all.  Everything we achieved was possible because of you, so we thought to bring you along as we reflect on what a year 2025 has been!

Yield Launch

In January, we took our first step beyond lending and launched Yield, a smarter way to grow your money. With returns of up to 21% per year, Yield helps your funds do more than sit idle. It protects your money against inflation and puts it to work for you in real time.

This Is Credit Direct, Our Product Demo Day

This is Credit Direct was our official announcement to the public about our new digital products and CLARA, our AI-powered assistant. We launched the Credit Direct mobile app (Yaay!). We also introduced a new Yield feature called “Gift a Yield”, which allows you give the gift that grows in value (aka an investment plan). Then, we re-introduced our Buy now Pay later solution, Checkout, as well as digital channels for public sector employees to get sharp-sharp loans.

More than half a million downloads on The Credit Direct App!

Remember how I said earlier that you were part of what made 2025 iconic for us? You see, barely 3 months after this launch, we hit 200,000 downloads on the Credit Direct app, and today, we have since crossed half a million app downloads!  

Credit Direct Checkout

Let’s talk about Credit Direct Checkout. We listened to you, heard your feedback, and with that, launched Know Your Limit. This is a Checkout feature that lets you know how much credit you are eligible for, even before you are ready to shop. The reason why was clear, to make your shopping experience 10 times better, and the number of times we saw you checking your limit shows how valuable this was for you!

Our Digital Channels also got an Upgrade!

*5120# was originally for customers to apply for loans, but in 2025, we made it even smarter. Now, you can dial *5120# to create or change your transaction PIN, easily get your Credit Direct wallet account number, check your account balance (loan balance and wallet balance), and retrieve your OTP while using any Credit Direct product. Try it now!

Target Yield

We all know how hard it is to follow through with a plan, and for that, we created Target Yield. Now, you can set a financial goal and contribute towards it over a period, earning you 15% per year when you achieve your goal. The best part? It’s all automated. Just set it up, go to sleep, and you will get debited on the date you set, as long as your wallet is funded.  

Loan Management On The Credit Direct App

Being able to track and monitor your loans on the app was also something you asked for and we delivered. With the loan management feature on the Credit Direct app, you can now track and repay your personal loans directly from your wallet.

Financial Inclusion

Financial inclusion isn’t just a buzzword for us. We saw the gap, spotted the need, and are solving it the Credit Direct way.  In partnership with the emPLE Group , we offered loans, micro investments, health insurance, and micro pensions to this underserved market.

Sometime in October, we also visited markets across Lagos and Ogun state, and over 2000 market traders received free medical checks, as well as medications.

Customer Service Week 2025

Customers’ Service Week was a vibe this year. From themed dress-ups to prize-winning trivia and an intensive customer experience training program, we celebrated our CX Team and you, because you are the reason we are in business.

Checkout Black Friday

Black Friday is always a fun and memorable event at Credit Direct. This time, all your favourite brands came out to play in the biggest shopping event of the year! From personal gadgets to home appliances, many of you got massive discounts and were able to spread the payments over up to 6 months!  

MSME Awards

It was a double win for us at the MSME Awards this year. Credit Direct brought two awards home: MSME Fintech Lending platform of the year and MSME Finance Lending CEO of the year, for our MD/CEO, Chukwuma Nwanze.

We were honoured to be reminded of the impact of our work, and we are committed to ensuring that you have access to financial solutions that guarantee your peace of mind.

More wins with the #1 Best Place To Work Award

The icing on the cake had to be this recognition by Great Place to Work, as the #1 Best Workplace in Financial Services. We poured our hearts into giving you products that you love this year, but we still managed to keep our culture alive. This is the true testament of the Credit Direct spirit, and thankfully, we received this beautiful award to show for it. Thank you to the Great Place to Work team, for this recognition.

The leaders of tomorrow were not left out of our movement for impact in 2025. We hosted the Future-Ready Internship, empowering young people aged between 15 and 21, across different Universities in Nigeria.
