200,000 Naira is the sweet spot for a lot of Nigerian phone buyers. It's enough to get a phone with a genuinely good display, a decent battery capacity, and a camera that doesn't embarrass you, but not so much that you need to save for months to get one. The catch is that this price bracket has more options than almost any other, and not all of them are worth your money.
Here are five budget Android phones currently selling for under ₦200,000 in Nigeria, what makes each one worth a look, and how to spread the cost across monthly instalments through Credit Direct Checkout instead of paying it all upfront.
What to Look For Under 200k
At this price, you're making conscious trade-offs, not looking for perfection. The phones worth buying in this bracket typically get you a 90Hz or 120Hz display (smoother scrolling than the older 60Hz standard), a battery around 5,000mAh or larger, and at least 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. Anything below that, and the phone will start to feel sluggish within a year of everyday use.
Samsung Galaxy A07
The A07 is Samsung's current entry point into Nigeria's budget market, and it comes with an advantage most budget phones in this range don't: Samsung has committed to 6 years of security updates on the A07, more than double what most rivals offer at this price. For a phone you'll likely keep for a few years, that's a meaningful difference.
Mobility NG lists the Samsung Galaxy A07 (4GB/128GB) at ₦164,480.
Vivo Y05
The Y05 is Vivo's most affordable current phone, and it punches above its price with a 6.74 inch, 120Hz display rated at 1,200 nits of peak brightness, paired with a large 6,500mAh battery (Jumia Nigeria, listing checked September 2026). It's also the one phone on this list with a genuine pricing perk: Vivo phones bought through Credit Direct Checkout qualify for a discounted 20% deposit instead of the standard 25%, under an official partnership between Credit Direct and vivo.
Jumia Nigeria currently lists the Vivo Y05 (4GB/64GB) at ₦185,814. For the full breakdown of Vivo's lineup and pricing, see our Vivo price and instalment guide.
Infinix Hot 60i
The Hot 60i is one of Infinix's newer budget releases, built around a 6.7 inch, 120Hz IPS LCD display, a 50MP main camera, and a 5,160mAh battery with 45W fast charging, which is unusually fast for this price tier according to GSMArena.
Mobility NG lists the Infinix Hot 60i (4GB/128GB) at ₦145,953.
Tecno Spark 40
According to Kara, the Spark 40 is Tecno's current baseline in its long-running Spark series, running a Helio G81 chipset with a 120Hz IPS LCD display, a 64MP camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. Pricing on the Spark 40 varies more than the other phones on this list depending on the seller and storage configuration: Mobility NG, as at March 2026, lists it as low as ₦134,600, while Kara.com.ng lists the same model between ₦158,000 and ₦175,000 depending on RAM and storage. Either way, it stays comfortably under the 200k mark.
Itel S24
The S24 is itel's camera-focused budget pick, built around a 108MP main camera with 3x single-lens zoom, a 6.6 inch display, and a 5,000mAh battery on a MediaTek Helio G91 chipset. Note that pricing on this one has moved up noticeably since its 2024 launch, in line with the broader rise in phone prices across the market: Mobility NG's more recent figure puts the itel S24 (4GB/128GB) at ₦138,700.
